Honorable Mayor and Council:
REPEAL the Rental Housing Inspection Ordinance.
STOP discriminating.
END costly litigation.
ADOPT the Initiative Petition for REPEAL.
Renters are not second-class members of our community and should not endure government intrusion and
inspection of their homes!
I live in fear that a city agent will come to my door and demand entry. I live intimidated that my landlord will
insist I cooperate and that I might lose my home if I don't submit. This program is discriminatory and violates
my Fourth Amendment Constitutional rights. This program is discriminatory and violates my privacy.
This ordinance is discriminatory because it treats me as a lesser person than those who own homes! That is sick.
I don't know these city inspectors. I do not want strangers "casing" my dwelling place, learning the layout,
touching my belongings, observing my private living quarters, taking photographs in my home, telling stories to
others about what they see. STAY OUT!
Renters such as myself are WELL PROTECTED by existing law. The Rental Housing Inspection Ordinance
violates my privacy and is unnecessary.
ADOPT THE INITIATIVE PETITION FOR REPEAL!
