Subject: Feb 16 Rental Inspection Meeting - Repeal the Rental Inspection Ordinance
Dear San Luis Obispo (SLO) City Council Members:
We urge you to vote to repeal the rental inspection ordinance at the special meeting on February 16th. As
landlords owning a single-family rental house at 1857 Vicente Drive in SLO. We provide clean, safe housing
for students. We limit the tenants to no more than 5 unrelated adults, provide 2 off-street parking places and
have placed responsible individuals that are respectful to neighbors and property. We maintain the property and
landscaping to assure that it is an asset to the neighborhood and always pay the City business tax in a timely
manner. We understand the need too crack -down on substandard housing that is a health and safety threat to
tenants and neighbors but adding fees and inspections to otherwise compliant property owners is not the essence
of good government nor does it provide for the intended benefit to the community. Again, do the right thing
and repeal this onerous ordinance from the books.
