Please repeal ... landlords are already being taxed with a business tax.
If a rental is substandard, let the renter get protection from the city. Provide a legally safe place that renters can
complain without fear of being evicted. This method would focus the problem ON the problem, not on the
caring landlords.
As an aside: I would imagine that most landlords have been renters at some point in their lives (I certainly
have). I have never had a serious experience (except maybe in Rochester, NY where a squirrel kept trying to
come into the warmth of our apartment ... a little duct tape discouraged him).
