Years ago when our son was a student at Cal Poly we bought a condo in San Luis Obispo. He graduated -- we
now rent the condo. When we first heard about the housing inspection ordinance, we thought it was to
ensure students and others did not live in garages with no heating/kitchen/etc. The program has
mushroomed into a huge intrusion of our rights to property ownership. Sure, we can 'not allow' your
inspectors in, but then you red tag our property. Govt program run amok! I'm sure there are plenty of normal
housing/building codes to protect improper housing. And, as absentee owners, we don't even have the right
to vote on issues in SLO. Terminate this bad inspection program.
