Subject: February 16th Rental Inspection Meeting
Dear Mayor Harmon and City Council Members,
Please adopt the Initiative Petition to REPEAL the rental inspection ordinance.
Nothing less than a repeal of the ordinance is acceptable; after two years to "improve it" there has been
no evidence of clarity or that the citizen's voices of objection have been heard or addressed. In fact. more
onerous regulations have been added.
This rental inspection ordinance is clearly discriminatory and a blatant violation of our 4th Amendment
rights which protects citizens against unlawful searches.
"unreasonable search and seizure. n. search of an individual or his/her premises (including an
automobile) and/or seizure of evidence found in such a search by a law enforcement officer without a
search warrant and without "probable cause" to believe evidence of a crime is present."
