Subject: Rental Housing
I ask the Mayor, and the City Council, To Adopt The Initiative Petition to REPEAL the Inspection Ordinance.
This ordinance is way out of line. "A persons home is their castle", & unless a crime has been committed, seems
to me, to violate not only their privacy,but sovereignty of such. If property is unsafe, or unhealthy, it is the
obligation of rental party to settle up the matter with the landlord. And if unable to resolve matter, there should
be a hearing before a Housing Arbitration Board to get a workable solution. I am a homeowner in SLO, & I
rent a small legal studio. I depend on my renter to advise me of needed repairs, which I attend to promptly.
Everyone should be safe, & secure in their homes, but all landlords should not be penalized because of some
