As always, thank you for your time and efforts on behalf of our city and community. Regarding the possible P&R Element update: I am disappointed that the staff report didn't identify a need for more dollars than $160,000 to fund an update. Some preliminary personal investigations revealed that the costs will be closer to twice that amount...at the moment. That said, any efforts to get a much needed needs assessment started would be, in my opinion, a good thing. I see that the Laguna Lake neighbors are pressing for funds for dredging. I can tell you there are as many people hoping for more turf & playing fields. And of course there are those still looking for new parks. In short, gaining a more thorough understanding of our current and future recreational needs and developing a plan to meet those needs should be a priority. Please fully fund this effort. Regarding the possible new “Non-Discrimination in Housing" City Ordinance: On principle, I don't like the idea of 15%-20% of our residents deciding what's best for all and writing an ordinance that must be either enacted or put before a costly vote. Please pay special attention to the briefing by our City Attorney. If the ordinance must be put to a vote, the responsibly for costs and impacts rests on the residents who have brought this forward in this manner, not the Council. Thanks for listening! 1
