It is also a recreation area. Besides the picnic ground and dog park and walking and exercise path, there is a fantastic lake waiting for kayaks, row boats, canoes, and small sailboats. I would like to see the City put some thought, funds, and effort into making Laguna Lake great again for the enjoyment of young and old alike. Wouldn't it be a good idea to get city residents back to using the lake? The parks department should organize and advertise a 'The Lake is Back' festival for a weekend. Get food vendors to setup to sell food to people who come, like the people who sell food at the downtown farmers market, Rib Line, McKlintocks, etc. Have activities for people to do, guided nature walks, games, have someone bring in boats for people to use on the lake. Longer term, stock the lake with whatever native fish is appropriate so that people can start fishing in the lake again. Ron Larson San Luis Obispo, CA 1
