Subject: Safe Routes for Schools
Esteemed Mayor and City Council Members,
As parents of children at Pacheco Elementary, we are very happy that the City has worked to promote safe routes for
schools, but there is much work to be done to improve that safety. The Council has prioritized a number of projects, but
it has come to our attention that the very important Foothill/Ferrini Crossing has completed planning, but is no longer a
budget priority. My family and I would request a re-prioritization of this over other bicycle projects as it directly affects
the safety of many children in the community and is an opportunity to continue to lead as a bicycle safe city.
