Subject: Support for Bike Projects
Dear Mayor Harmon and City Council Members Christianson, Gomez, Pease and Rivoire,
I understand the complexity of decision making, especially when it comes to budget as there is so much to do
with so little funding. I know we have intelligent visionaries on the council but I still felt compelled (this is my
first message every to a City Council as a resident) to message you to show my support for bike projects. My
name is Matt Leal and I am resident of the City of San Luis Obispo (1126 Buchon Street). My wife and I both
commute daily to our jobs, mine as a County Planner and Kirsten as a Physical Therapist. The bike friendliness
of SLO is one of the main reasons we want to live here. Active transportation is a key contributor to reducing
impacts on the environment and boosting ones physical and mental health. Thank you for your time.
