Subject: City Council Agenda, Item #5, May 16, 2017
Dear Council Members,
I am respectfully requesting that you postpone Item #5, AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT DISCUSSIONS WITH AVILA RANCH, LLC (JOHNSON/L.JOHNSON),
until your next scheduled meeting, or other future meeting. In addition, I request that I receive ample
notification of all future agenda items that relate to the Avila Ranch Project.
I share a property line with the proposed Avila Ranch Property and have many concerns about this project. I
feel I, and my neighbors, should have been notified of this item in advance.
The draft EIR of this project had several impacts deemed "Significant and Unavoidable", including impact on
agricultural land, long-term air quality, inconsistency with several City policies in the General Plan, and traffic
impacts on four intersections. I consider each of these of great importance, and would like to be kept informed
of, and have an opportunity to have input on, every step of this process.
I am deeply disappointed to be learning of this within the last 30 minutes, third hand.
Please keep me informed of all meetings that will address this project and any items relating to this project,
which include City water, City waste disposal, and all city services.
Please respond so that I know you have received this letter. I would be happy to discuss my concerns regarding
the Avila Ranch Project and flooding, traffic, the proximity to the airport, and air quality with you, at your
convenience.
