Subject:North Broad Park
Dear City Council of SLO,
This is just a brief note as a resident of the North Broad Area Neighborhood who has children in elementary, jr.
high, and high school. While having $900,000 earmarked for a park in our area is a nice thing, it is far more
important that our city stay solvent. I am not sure what our current debt may be, but it would be my desire that
any and all debts are paid off before spending money on an extravagance like this.
We have plenty of parks in our city and scores of acres of open space surrounding it, not to count endless access
to ocean beaches. While you will likely hear from many in our neighborhood demanding the city not use these
funds for other things, I think the city should be in the business of staying solvent and spending money only on
government neccessities needed to provide law and order in praising good and punishing evil.
