My name is Makena Swithin, age 12. I am writing on behalf of my family, as residents of Del Mar Ct. in San
Luis Obispo. My sister Kailani, age 10, and myself were born in San Luis Obispo, and have lived here our
entire lives. We were thrilled to find out that $900,000 had been set aside to purchase a park in our
neighborhood. That excitement was short-lived when we discovered that the city of San Luis Obispo had
decided to utilize these funds in other ways.
We ask you to reconsider your decision, as a park would be a much needed addition to our neighborhood.
