In the early 1990s, $500,000 was allocated for our North Broad Park, but for various reasons, both suitable sites and the money became unavailable. During the June 14, 2016 Council Meeting, our Northside area requested funds earmarked for a park from $6,900,000 available. In response, the City Council voted for $900,000 to be specifically set aside for the North Broad Park. On November 1, 2016, the City Council adopted the Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan, Item 9, page 70, “A New Park in the North Broad Street Neighborhood.” Since then we have been looking for a suitable site. We are requesting that you uphold the City Council’s direction of June 14, 2016 and the November 1, 2016 Strategic Plan section 4.3.2 to “Pursue a new park located in the North Broad Street Neighborhood.” We ask that you support these directives and our efforts to bring a park to the only area within San Luis Obispo without a designated park by protecting the $900,000 allotted. Thank you, Tom and Ann Neumann 130 S. Tassajara Dr. San Luis Obispo, CA 93405 1
