Subject:Proposed North Broad Area Park --S.O.S.
Greetings to all,
I am a long time resident of the North Broad Area community, having bought and lived in a house in
the Park View Homes district adjacent to N. Broad St. and Foothill Blvd. since 1992. I certainly enjoy
and appreciate living here in our neighborhood of established, modest homes on wide leafy streets
with minimal front yards fencing and lots of "neighborliness" among residents.
A recent heartwarming joy is to see that my neighborhood is actively providing for and nurturing new,
growing, young families. Babies are popping out, and children are happily playing up and down these
local blocks, with smiles and laughter in abundance! But the one thing that is not here is any grassy
city park within reasonable walking or baby-strolling distance --and that would be so nice!
Please know that I am in full support of keeping all civic funds, apparently some $900,000 set aside in
our current fiscal year, prioritized for the planning and construction of city park(s) within the North
Broad Area Neighborhood. My neighbors all seem to agree, and we are sure that using those dollars
for area parks would be tax monies very well spent.
Thank you for your serious consideration of our local neighborhood in carrying out your administrative
allocation of these existing funds.
