Dear ARC and City Council Members,
I have been a resident in the area of Buckley Rd. for over thirty years. I have witnessed the development of Broad St. and the
increased traffic on both Broad St. and Buckley Road and know firsthand what the lack of proper planning and traffic
engineering has caused. The intersection at Vachell Lane during rush hour is probably the worst in the City. The extension of
Buckley Rd. to S. Higuera should help traffic flow at Broad St, South Higuera and Vachell Lane.
One of the largest contributing factors to this traffic congestion is the lack of workforce housing in San Luis Obispo. Avila
Ranch's target of 70% is to be commended and supported. In addition to the traffic mitigation the project delivers new parks
and bike paths as well as affordable housing.
This property is already designated for residential use and this project will be a benefit to the entire City. Please vote to
approve this project.
