I am very disturbed by the actions in Washington, including (and not limited to) the effort to kill the ACA and replace with the AHCA. As someone that grew up in Canada, I have experienced single-payer healthcare. I can attest that it works, and you would be hard-pressed to find a Canadian desiring a change to American style health care. Would it require additional taxation? Of course, but the savings in premiums, and the peace of mind it would bring far outweighs such costs. I am convinced that such a system would not only benefit the health of Californians, it would benefit the economy of California as others from around the country come to participate. It could also serve as a model to other states. I have lived in the USA for over 20 years. I am a dual citizen. If the GOP gets their way, and California doesn't step-up, I will have no choice but to move my family to Canada where we can enjoy the benefits of universal healthcare, and a citizenry that agrees that healthcare is a human right....and simply the right thing to do for our neighbor. I appreciate your consideration, and hope you will pass a resolution in support of this important bill. Sincerely, Rob Wilson 1
