Subject:SB562 support resolution
Dear Esteemed SLO City Council Members,
My name is Patty Gabrisch and I live at 1275 Manzanita Way in San Luis Obispo and you are my representatives.
I am in support of SB562, a very important resolution in support of California single-payer, Medicare-for-All. I ask that
you vote in support of this bill.
My husband retired last year and transitioned onto Medicare after years of insurance coverage through his work. I, as
his dependent, have continued to pay $500.00 per month for my own insurance because I am not yet old enough to
enroll in Medicare insurance. I am looking forward to that day. Who knew that one day I would be looking forward to
my 65th birthday with so much longing? What does it say about the lack of affordable health care when, even though I
have no existing conditions nor do I have to take any prescription medication, that I look forward to getting older? Each
and every one of my friends and colleagues who have enrolled in Medicare have been so grateful for both the level of
health care that they receive AND the extremely low insurance premiums that they now pay as compared to what they
paid in the past.
I believe that health care is the right of every American and am a strong supporter of Medicare for All. I hope that you
are too! Please vote in support this bill.
