I'm the owner of a neighboring property on Leff Street and I'm writing to you about the
proposed project referenced above.
I've seen the plans and would encourage the Historical Committee, ARC and the City to support
the proposed project for the following reasons:
• The design of the existing old house is quite plain and unremarkable with white vinyl
windows
• The current property is an eyesore with periodic renters
• The new houses will upgrade the neighborhood and bring new life to the property with
fresh landscaping, a new sidewalk and old California style architecture that fits with
nearby houses
• This new project will likely encourage owners on the block to improve their homes,
rentals and apartment buildings
• Overall, this will benefit us all with higher housing values in the neighborhood
• The lot is zoned R-3, suitable for an infill development that helps the City of SLO attain
one of its goals of bringing more housing online for residents
Please share this letter with City staff and at your public meetings. I support the project at 1164
Leff Street.
