Subject:San Luis Ranch support
Hello Council,
I just wanted to jot a quick note to show my support for more affordable housing in SLO! I'm a 28yo mother of
three with a husband that works in SLO. We've been living outside of San Luis since we got married 4 years
ago - first in Paso Robles (what a commute!!) and now in Grover.
As a millenial, I see so many of my friends having to leave this great place because (1) there are few jobs for all
the graduating college students and (2) housing is just too scarce and too expensive. Think of all the brain-drain
that is happening here. So much untapped potential that keeps fleeing for other parts of the state, or out of state,
simply because of a lack of housing. Its so, so sad for the many families that have to uproot simply because of
this.
We ourselves have 2 adult roommates, in addition to us, our three kids, and our dog. And I know that if we gave
them 30 or even 60 days notice, they would have a very hard time finding places to live at all, let alone places
that would be in their budget.
Let people stay in SLO! Build the San Luis Ranch!
