The time you put in surely insurmountable...and it is appreciated. We have lived in this area for over forty years, most of those years in Cayucos. We taught school for SLCUSD for many of those years, many in San Luis Obispo itself so we do know the neighborhoods quite well. Our recent move to SLO from the coast has been positively a great decision. We care deeply about this community and all who live here. We are also bicyclists who do NOT agree with the Broad Street Bicycle Corridor proposal, and we DO NOT live in the affected neighborhoods. We do ride in that area, however...never feeling unsafe with sharing the road. San Luis Obispo is blessed with the most beautiful and historic neighborhoods...such as those in the Broad Street areas that will be affected by the proposal being addressed at tonight's meeting. We are on vacation so will not be able to attend the meeting so must send our "voice" via email. As stated, we are not residents of the affected neighborhoods, but are among many in town who see this as much ado about nothing by SOME in a very vocal bicycle coalition...some squeaky wheels so to speak. We do not see the need at all. Sharing the road works just fine ...and it is free! Are you aware of the long ago "improvement" on Chorro Street...those annoying and brightly painted speed bumps, signs, and posts? Thousands of tax dollars wasted and a blight on residents. No one would want such a mess along their own neighborhood street. PLEASE listen to the voices of the people who live in these affected areas. They are there every day and throughout the day. Their voices should dictate your decision, not the squeaky wheels. SLO tax dollars should be spent on the good for all people. Carol & Rich Guenther Sent from my iPad 1
