Thank you. Mayor & Council Members, Please consider the many negatives of the three proposed plans on the Northern neighborhoods. They will create more problems than they will solve in terms of traffic congestion, safety response time for fire/police/ambulance and lack of parking for neighbors on Broad and Chorro. The proposed plans will create unintended traffic/parking spillover on cross streets (Ramona, Serrano Meineke, Murray, West, Venable, Center, Mountain View, Lincoln) and side routes such as Almond and the long segment of Lincoln. All of this for an area where bikes and vehicles do not have significant problems at the present time. Have there been accidents with injuries or fatalities? My suggestion is to work with Cal Trans and close the entrance and exit at Broad St. at Highway 101. This will have the effect of immediate reduction and calming of vehicle traffic on Broad St. As for Chorro St. some speed bumps would slow traffic there. After the infill projects of 22 Chorro and 71 Palomar are completed and the Latter Day Saints Church has finalized negotiations with the City for a segment of the Safe Routes to School bike path (either a neighborhood park and path or just the 20'segment for a path) between Ramona and Foothill, the missing information will lead to more informed and thorough plans. My understanding is that final decision is to be made in Salt Lake City and is at least a year away. As it stands right now all of the impacts of these projects are missing. All three of the proposed plans will cause significant adverse effects in the North Broad neighborhoods. Thank you for your consideration.. Cheryl McLean Anholm 1
