Subject:Avila Ranch Project
Hello SLO City Council Members,
I'm a strong advocate and supporter of the Avila Ranch Housing Project, and I'm very excited about the housing project
and it's location in SLO County.
In my occupation I'm involved in a lot of commuting to my job sites. My position at each job site can very from 1 day to
several years. I have actively been involved in job sites in Lompoc, Santa Maria, Nipomo, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach,
Pismo Beach, Los Osos, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Cayucos, and Cambria.
During my commutes I seem to pass through San Luis Obispo frequently. I would really like to secure a home base in San
Luis Obispo from which to commute from. My wife and I have been actively involved in searching for a new or almost
new smaller size home in San Luis Obispo in an area of less educational and less commercial activities. Avila Ranch really
fits our needs. Plus, the Avila Ranch Project with it's location right on the Bob Jones Bike Trail, will really help in my
staying active in my bicycling activities.
So I am really encouraging the SLO City Council to approve this housing project for our family, and a lot of other families,
to provide affordable smaller size housing.
Other benefits will be a measureable reduction in commuter traffic, less air pollution, less congested roadways and very
happy residents.
Please vote to approve this project!
Thank you,
John G. Cole
