Subject:Support Avila Ranch
Hi, my name is Dot Stauble, and I'm writing to advocate for the new Avila Ranch SLO housing development.
My fiancee Stephen Lynch and I both currently live and work full time in SLO. I work for a non-profit (CAPSLO),
and he works at the airport. We earn just barely over the limit to qualify for housing assistance. The condo we
rent here has no yard at all, so we come home every day at lunch to take our dog outside. The only places
available to buy in SLO currently are similar condos to what we already have, or even smaller apartments. We
watch the listings regularly for anything else that becomes available. We would very much like to buy a house
with a small yard for the dog, and start building equity for our future. Also, I definitely agree that the new
interchange that Avila Ranch would bring to the Buckley Road and Higuera intersection is greatly needed. I
have to drive all around for work, and I will drive far out of my way to avoid the dangerous turn at that current
intersection. I have read through Avila Ranch's plans, and it seems like a sound solution to similar problems
faced by a great deal of workers in similar situations to ours. Thank you for your consideration.
