Subject:Open Spaces
I agree with the following sentiments. I think a change of policy will be detrimental to many of us including the open
spaces. Thank you -- Jackie Loper
"I fail to understand why the Staff is proposing an extension of Winter Open Space hours on Cerro San Luis Natural
Reserve so that a few thoughtless people can further impact what ought to be protected. The present hours have been
in place for a long time and work well for almost everyone. They protect the wildlife from lights and noise that would
disturb their habitat. They also work well for emergency workers, firefighters, and neighbors of the open
space. Changing a long-time successful policy to satisfy a self-interested vocal group does not make any sense. Some of
you were elected because of your previous stand to protect the environment, and I do hope you meant it. Please, stand
for the wildlife, for natural reserves, and for the environment, and do not approve this careless resolution."
