As a hiker, trail runner and mountain biker, I regularly enjoy our open trail system many times a week. Long days make for easy access after work however with short days of winter comming that after work or early morning access is not easily available. I am a strong supporter of the environment and encourage a dense, compact urban footprint in order to preserve the open space and aggricultural lands that make the central coast a unique California gem. I would argue that the open space trail system within our City's boundaries are a hybrid part of this urban fabric and are closer to public parks than true wilderness. In order for people to appreciate the environment, they need to be able to access and enjoy it. Again, I urge you to support limited night access to our public open space trail system so that the hikers, runners and mountain bikers of our community can enjoy these spaces at night until at least 9pm.
