By extending hours of access in these open space area intended to be preserved for natural resources and city limit natural area view sheds, the resulting increased human recreational activities will increase degradation of trails and disturb nocturnal fauna. Please keep in mind the Conservation Open Space Element especially the primary and secondary goals. Given the increasing pressures on city funds for all city functions, increasing use in these natural areas at night will simply create more demands for public services for first responder responses and neighborhood conflicts. Please do not focus your attentions on this topic when perhaps more energy should go to examine the user conflicts in these areas with the hiker-biker interactions that currently conflict on the same trails as well as the trail design that promotes high speed downhill biking that can be very dangerous for the rider and pedestrians requiring more pubic service responses. This pilot program should not be a priority for your council and is not needed. Do not add more work to our city staff when other priorities need attention. Juventino Ortiz 2267 Santa Ynez Avenue 1
