Subject:Proposed Luneta Drive Closure Amendment - Agenda Item 7 of the October 24th
Council Meeting
Dear Mayor Harmon and City Council Members,
We are the resident homeowners of 633 Luneta Drive and we are writing to urge you to vote to Adopt a Resolution to
approve an amendment to the Circulation Element of the General Plan with an addendum to the 2014 LUCE update
Environmental Review Review designed to keep Luneta Drive closed to through traffic.
As you are no doubt aware, the proposal is straightforward and simply makes the closure of Luneta Drive to through
traffic permanent. This condition has already been in place for over 40 years and there is simply no local support to
make Luneta a through street. The evidence is clear that if Luneta becomes a through street that traffic will be pulled
away from Foothill and into our fragile neighborhood streets creating safety issues and destroying our heretofore quiet
and peaceful neighborhood.
We hope that you will listen to the community and approve the General Plan Amendment and vote to keep Luneta Drive
closed to through traffic, Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
