We live on Serrano Dr. We who live in this area, take advantage of this lovely walking area, as do many. My husband and I, and our dog often walk the area and see many others walking. Since our area of North Broad St. has no park area, altho quite small, this is a very pleasant respite for all of us, and I will mention many of our Senior Citizens living at The Village. But one of my vivid memories is of a morning cyclist obviously enjoying his calm ride on Luneta St., at that moment, devoid of cars. It was a lovely moment! It is a very good route for bicycles as well. Opening Luneta St. would radically change this as there would be a great increase in traffic. The same is true for Serrano. Not only does the Serrano Dr. roadbed have a steep-angled approach to Broad St., which can cause the bumpers of cars and trucks to hit the road as they ascend or descend at the juncture of Serrano Dr. and Broad St. It is a difficult approach to Broad St. It requires great care when turning on or off, to or from Broad St. After much work and research, your Staff made a very wise decision to keep Luneta St. closed at the posts. I hope and request that you support your staff's recommendation and vote to keep Luneta St. closed. Sincerely yours, David and Gina Hafemeister 1
