The SLO Water system is a prime example of poorly run city utilities. A water system which by their own admission is leaking water. Will city electric have the equipment and personnel to find and repair downed power lines, failed equipment, vehicle into pole accidents (trucks, dispatchers, line men, transformers, conductors, switches, circuit breakers, etc.) 24 -7? A water system where the bills are sent out two weeks after the meters are read by a contracted company. The water department has been unable to provide me a calendar of when my water meter will be read. PG&E has installed the Smart Meter system and gets bills out within days of the monthly read. And they provide the calendar of read dates at the beginning of each year. A water system which needs to request rate increases because the drought has reduced consumption. How will the city electric system deal with increasing roof top solar that removes an income stream? And as far as clean energy goes, the City has already missed that mark by supporting the closure of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Plant. The loss of that 24-7 power source of zero carbon electricity will be replaced with day time solar, but the only way to supply the evening peak will be through the use of carbon producing natural gas turbine generators. Please don’t go down the path of Community Choice Energy. Gary Corsiglia 2707 Johnson Ave San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 (805) 544-0890 1
