To the Deputy Planning Director,
As one of the neighbors who worked with the Planning Department on creating the original Ordinance 1130 throughout
1988 & 1989, I want to stress that the commercial properties that have been developed under its guidelines have been
financially successful, while protecting both the riparian environment and the adjacent R-1 neighborhood.
The Super 8 Motel and the Creekside Lodge were able to easily conform to the guidelines. By holding newly proposed
projects accountable, they too will be successful in this Commercial/Tourist/Sensitive Zone.
This neighborhood will continue to monitor development on its border, but we wish that the Planning Department would
encourage adherence to our guidelines at the beginning of the planning process.
