HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-10-2018 Item 4 - Rowley Purrington, Teresa From:Sandra Rowley <macsar99@yahoo.com> Sent:Wednesday, January To:Advisory Bodies; Davidson, Doug; Bell, Kyle Cc:Gallagher, Carrie; Christian, Kevin Subject:Planning Commission, Item 4 Chairman Stevenson and Planning Commissioners, I wholly support the revisions proposed for Ordinance 1130. I, also, wholly support the comments made in Allan Cooper's letter. City residents who live along the creek have long taken care of and watched over the creek. The quality of life for each of them, regardless of the location of the portion of the creek that abuts their property, is affected by development occurring on the opposite side of the creek. It is my belief that all such creekside residents and residences should be, and need to be afforded the protections of Ordinance 1130, as revised. Additionally, I support Mr. Cooper's comments regarding S-overlay protections needed for the other specified areas of downtown. One reason for the city policy of encouraging downtown residential development was to provide 24/7 eyes and ears for the downtown businesses located there. It seems only right that the City would, in return, provide them with some additional protections. Suggest staff be provided guidance to prepare a similar ordinance for these areas. Thank you for your time and the ability to provide these comments. Sincerely Sandra Rowley SLO Resident 1
