Subject: Palm Street Parking Structure
Mr Cohen, I am concerned that the parking structure's height will loom over the neighborhoods and substantially block
views of both peaks, Cerro San Luis and Bishop Peak.
I am very disappointed to see the city lose the views that create both the intimate nearby view and the long distance
views of Cuesta Ridge. Being downtown and seeing people walking on trails on "Madonna Mountain" brings me
immeasurable pleasure.
I believe the city is not doing enough to protect our views. I have lived on Biddle Ranch for many years and when the
Tank Farm extension went in, the road allowed drivers to enjoy the magnifcient view of the morros as they came Tank
Farm from Orcutt towards 227. The Righetti ranch project has/is blocking those views forever. Could focus on view
preservation saved the view thousands could have enjoyed on their daily commutes by working with the developer to
preserve iconic images.
Our views of our surrounding hills and peaks create our sense of place. I urge the city to place importance and
protection on our view shed and not let what happened on Tank Farm road continue.
This may not be in your job department on these projects, so I would appreciate if you would forward my email to
others that will be working on the next phases of Righetti and the Avila ranch development on Buckley road.

Magnificient views - make them last.
