HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc - Anthony (Public Trust)April 25, 2018 Members of the SLO planning commission, I have grown increasingly concerned, and disheartened, with our community’s decline in the democratic process. We, the intelligent, diverse, and dedicated citizens you have been selected to represent, meet with each other, write letters, pool financial resources and obtain legal counsel, all to protect our quality of life from our “leaders”. This is not how it should be. This should be a resident based government. We should be part of the decision making that will affect us for future generations. There should be full transparency, open discussion and honesty. Streamlining the review process will stifle public input and minimize advisory body recommendations, which is unethical, to say the least. You, and other city leaders, should listen to us, speak up for us, and prioritize us, ahead of the greedy developers who come before you. Irreversible decisions are currently being made that are adversely affecting our quality of life, safety and the environment. The time you spend in those seats is your chance to leave a positive, OR a negative legacy. It’s your choice. I feel it’s time for the SLO city leaders to welcome communication from those who live here, and who have freely invested their time, sweat and tears, to make this such an amazing community. We are here, willing and able. We’re not going away. Lets work together to go forward slowly and sensibly. Thank you, Debbie Anthony Mountain View St. SLO Date Received: 04/25/2018 Public Comment
