"Everyone knows that's a mninr anal RTnt evervnne knnum I do not understand how the members of the San 4uis Obispo, City Council and Planning Commission, can be so out of touch, blind to what is going on in this city. San Luis Obispo is now, a overcrowded, stressful and unsafe place too live, There is a thick layer of smog, hanging over the city. The cross-town traffic jam, makes accomplishing anything in this city, a maddening experience. San Luis Obispo's current zoning laws, allowed our " Old Town " neighbor- hood to become a overpopulated, infill mess - parking is compromised, peace and quiet, privacy gone. The basic act of sleeping at night gone, thanks to drug addicts that cycle in -and -out of their houses, all night long smok- ing drugs and talking their heads off; rental agreements, do not allow drug smoking within these houses, all our neighbors believe standing outside yelling into a cellphone and honking their car•horn repeatedly every time they enter and exit their vehicle - is acceptable behavior. Our once quiet residential street, is now a high speed expressway, for cross- town computers. These crosstown commuters believing - ,jeopardizing the life and lima of pedestrians and bicyclist, disregarding residential speed limits, and limit line:/stop sign. laws - is acceptable behavior „Various police chiefs, mayors and city council members, taking a sit on their hands approach, to this public safety issue r that has taken over our street, along with the rest of the streets in San Luis Obispo, Downtown San Luis Obispo, has become a useless destination. Or as some tourist relatives put it - that had traveled here, because of the " great things, they had heard about San Luis Obispo " - "-this is the dirtiest mall, we have ever seen " ; after tewnty minutes downtown. . They immediately checked out of their motel; and spent the rest of their vacation in Cambria,. I do not understand, how our society went so quickly from houses being forclosed on left and right, developers auctioning off their stock for whatever price they could recieve - to a housing shortage in every city in California. That San Luis Obispo City officials can use this alleged housing shortage, as a basis to destroy quality of life, farmland, and the enviroment. Plus, burn up the city's resources along the way. _Tbank-37N for your time, r Fi,.xor
