I think that the various advisory bodies serve an important role in maintaining the high quality and unique feel of our town. However, I also have the impression that over the years the various advisory bodies have all exceeded their specific purview and mandates, and that is an issue that I think can and should be fixed now. I believe that the scope of power for each advisory body should be clearly defined during the zoning update, and that a developer should have a clear rulebook to follow detailing what is and is not within the scope of each advisory body. In general, I believe that a lot of good work went into updating the LUCE, and I think that the goal of the zoning update should be to encourage the development of SLO in accordance with the vision of the LUCE. My impression is that the current advisory review process is making that more difficult than it needs to be, and I encourage you to address that issue during the zoning update process. Thank you for your time, consideration, and hard work, Ryan Curtis CFP® Financial Advisor Stifel Nicolaus 805-903-1070 www.RyanCurtisFinancial.com 1
