Subject:Proposed development at Tank Farm & Broad
Dear Planning Commission,
As I was unable to attend the public hearing, since it was on the Wed. edition of the Trib and I don't get a chance to read
it until the evening hours. I hope it's not too late to give you my opinion.
I have several concerns:
1: This is a very high traffic area. This large of a development would increase that greatly, especially with all the other
horrible new developments that never should have been approved in the closely surrounding areas.
2: Another market right across the street from Vons?
3: Affordability of the assisted living center for the average senior in our area. I wouldn't be able to afford it, would you
or your parents?
4: There are already enough vacant retail and restaurant spaces to be filled in our city, we don't need more.
What we need are more recreational indoor or a combination of indoor/outdoor activities for our residents & their
children.
I would not be adverse to the assisted senior care facility if it had services just for them, as long as it also contained
many rooms & services for lower income seniors. And I don't mean a sm. percentage like the housing developments. I'm
thinking more 50/50 or 60/40.
