Dear SLO Planning Commissioners,
I have lived in San Luis Obispo City for five years with my wife and children after having relocated from out of the area
for work and a better quality of live for our family. I currently work for San Luis Obispo County and my wife works for
Mind Body. We enjoy living here and dream of owning a home. As former homeowners we know the value and
security of having our own place. We had to move about two years ago with very short notice from our landlord due
to their desire to sell the property. It was a stressful situation and we found the rental market to be very aimed
towards college students who sometimes rent individual rooms for $1000+ per month. These rates are not
sustainable for families like mine. Although we have been working hard to save we have not been able to afford to
purchase any of the current offerings in the real estate market. It is clear to me the current demand for homes in our
area has been driving prices sky high.
I ask you to approve the San Luis Ranch project and give many families like mine more opportunities to become
homeowners.
