Subject:San Luis Ranch support
To the Advisory Body of the SLO City Council.
It is our understanding that the full council will soon take up the issue of approval for the San Luis Ranch
project on Buckley Rd. Our family supports this development. It should be noted that we live near the project
and understand what impacts may result, but feel the benefits far outweigh the negatives. In our family's
case, all three of our children have managed to secure very good jobs in our area, after living away for many
years. However, they are not able to afford a home in SLO. In the case of our daughter, husband and
grandchildren, they've had to purchase a home in north county, even though they work in SLO. That means
time, highway wear, fuel consumption and its resulting effects.
And we've lost several good businesses recently, specifically because of the lack of "affordable" housing.
Affordable doesn't mean low income. It means affordable for a good income... which would secure a home in
virtually any other place and state.
Please offer your support for San Luis Ranch and approve this much needed project.
