As a student and as a young professional I lived in many different houses and apartments all of them with roommates all over the city. Over my first 7 years of living in SLO I never found an affordable and safe place to start my family. I was lucky enough to build a successful company in that time that afforded me the tools to buy a home in north county. Which is when I became one of the thousands who commute over the grade every day. My son also goes to school in SLO which means that as a family we commute sometimes multiple times per day. If only we could get a place in SLO. Now as an employer in SLO I have the challenge of getting great people to work at my company and to live in town here. More than 40% of my workforce commutes because they can't find affordable living in town. I have learned much about the San Luis Ranch project and I appreciate the direction that they are taking family housing in SLO. This is so needed and my family would benefit greatly from living, working, and going to school here. Please help us bring this project to life and make living and working in SLO a reality. Sincerely, Sean Collier 1
