I went to Pacheco Elementary in the 1970s - at that time located next to Cal Poly. I then completed my schooling at San Luis Jr. High and San Luis Sr. High. I am also a graduate of the Cuesta College Nursing Program and have been working in SLO (all my life), but also as an RN for the past 16 years for the State of CA in SLO. My father is a graduate of the Cal Poly Architectural Program during the 1960s. My family continues to live in SLO, but due to the high cost of living/difficulty purchasing an affordable home in SLO - I must instead commute a long distance 5 days a week or more which makes it difficult, time-consuming, expensive and is extremely hard on the environment. Additionally, everything I do and patronize (shopping, visiting family, doctors appointments, car maintenance, insurance needs, dental, etc.) is located in SLO - so often I am spending 6-7 days a week commuting which contributes to poor air quality and affects quality of life in general. I have attempted several times to purchase a home in SLO, but each time it has been just enough out of my price range that I could not afford it. This means that I have had to purchase a home in a rural community that does not meet all of our needs. My son will be changing schools soon and will eventually be attending Cuesta College and perhaps Cal Poly. It would make a world of difference to be able to have affordable housing in SLO and this project - San Luis Ranch is a vision towards helping those of us who were born and raised in SLO, who continue to work in SLO - but can not afford a home there. I am looking forward to the development of this project and am hopeful that I will be able to purchase a home in this development for my son and I, as this is the only place I intend to live for the rest of my life. Thank you for your consideration. After reading about this project in SLO - San Luis Ranch - it sounds like an innovative project that not only includes organic farming/gardening, but bicycle paths and many other clean amenities for which I am deeply committed to and would make use of. Respectfully - Kirsten Augsburger Sent from my iPhone 1
