I am very interested and would appreciate the opportunity to be a home owner in San Luis Obispo. I am not education of vocabulary to impress you or the punctuation to write the best letter so I will tell you my true story of why I would love the opportunity to be fortunate to be blessed with a home in the San Luis Community. I am a single mother with four children have been through a divorce domestic violence my ex husband went to prison our house was about to go into foreclosure in 2016 the market to a dramatic drop our house appraised for 800,000 and we sold it for close to 600,000 but with all the attorney & fees we lost everything trying to provide for our four children. I had to separate four children with my family as I became a Correctional Officer for the California Men’s Colony in San Luis California. I have not been able to afford a home in San Luis Obispo Ca. I commute forty-five minute every day I do try to commute with in a van pool. Working in an institution we are mandated working 16 hours a day sometimes it can be two days in consecutively only getting maybe four hours sleep which is not safe for a human to function in a environment where there is violence and we are to protect public safety. My children are my life and do to riots in our institutions I am not able to come home to them but if I had a home close I know they would be close to me. I would appreciate the opportunity to have a home I could afford investors have came into our area and made it impossible for the housing market for us to buy a home. I do not understand how families are affording housing in this are they are moving out of the state all of the officers I speak to when they retire are they selling their homes because they can not afford to live here making well over $140,000. My income at a seven year Officer is $108,000 and can not afford a home the down payment is difficult for me to come up with if there is a way to assist me with a plan I would appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the San Luis Community. It would be a blessing to my family. A prayer answered Lord glory be to God. Sincerely, Alicia Laskowski 1503 Lark St. Santa Maria Santa Maria,Ca 93454 Sent from my iPhone 1
