Dear Planning Commissioners:
re: 159 &161 N. Broad Street Rezoning
Please provide the protective zoning on the wildlife corridor connecting Cerro San Luis and Old Garden Creek across the
Bressi estate. The City recommends it, the public endorses it, and the wildlife and flora deserve it. It is an opportunity to
demonstrate our pledge to protect our open spaces and seasonal streams for perpetuity.
Residents were assured in 2015 of an S overlay on this property in conformity with the General Plan and COSE. Given the
increasing risks of wildfire, it is furthermore prudent to amend the zoning and designate the area as sensitive. In truth,
the entire length of the corridor merits protection. We are privileged in SLO to be endowed with such a precious
habitat, not to be underestimated in its inherent value, nor in our responsibility to maintain it for generations to come.
We must never allow any of it to be whittled away in the name of "progress". Respectfully, Genevieve Czech
