SLO Planning Commissioners and staff,
I have a bit of history with SLO planning having served on our PC before we had a General Plan. That GP came
into being during my 5-year chairmanship. It would bode well for our city if you would have staff pull out a file
copy of that first GP for you would find it replete with green open space corridors to protect our peaks and
creeks and the wildlife that use those preserved spaces to not only survive in a natural habitat, but to delight
those of us lucky enough to live in a city with a humane respect for the wildlife we share this precious land
with.
I insist that you planning commissioners carry on the tradition of caring for our open spaces and the creatures
that use these spaces. There is no higher responsibility for which you are responsible. I see it as a duty you
assume when you take on the responsibilities of being a planning commissioner for both the citizens and the
nature's creatures with whom we share this place.
Also know that I served 5 terms as Mayor of our City to help carry out these planning objectives. I ask you to
do no less.
