I do not have a parking problem as I am a single person with a two-car garage and an outside parking space for guests. I do not normally use Foothill. Nor do I have friends in the neighborhood. Therefore, I believe I can provide objective input. I would like to lend support to people in this neighborhood who are voicing concerns about traffic accidents and parking in that area. I do visit Foothill Plaza about once each week. When I do, it is clear to me that the area is frequently a zoo, especially around lunchtime and after about 4:30. I do drive down Broad and Chorro toward the 101 onramp and toward downtown regularly and have noted that parking is jam packed (and this extends onto Ramona as well.) As a 25 year employee I am very fond of Cal Poly. HOWEVER, it is my firm (and somewhat educated opinion from working within the same division as the housing department) that the university has plenty of land and should be held responsible for development of on- campus housing BEFORE it increases enrollment. Please be more considerate of the city’s permanent residents. They are the ones who truly care about the town and its future. My job involved working very closely with students and I am very fond of them. HOWEVER, they move on (and some make very poor neighbors). Thank you for your consideration. 1
