Honorable Commissioners:
Please recommend that the Anholm bikeway proposal accommodate a sincere and unpressured effort by Staff, City
Council and neighbors to adjust Alternative B to achieve the stated goal of relieving both Broad and Chorro of through
traffic, diverting it to Santa Rosa, while encouraging more bicycle ridership. The neighborhood has yet to experience the
impact of 22 Chorro, 71 Palomar, and 790 Foothill in traffic volume. It makes no sense to rush the current Alt A through.
Since the very first meeting at the publlic library, the public voted against the proposed "traffic diverters" and supported
"partial diffusers".
The purpose of the meetings on Anholm was to accommodate public input while maintaining a feasible plan within
budget constraints. The adjustments already made still do not reflect the best direction forward. Alt B should not be
summarily dismissed. Please give its merits the detached consideration it deserves.
