REQUEST FOR SIGNATURE
Dear. Governor Brown:
On behalf of the City of San Luis Obispo I write to urge you to sign AB 300 into law, and
protect our City's existing local taxes. AB 300 would establish a collection method for state and
local charges on prepaid mobile telephone services sold by retailers. For cities, this includes the
collection of local utilities user's taxes (UUT's) and local emergency services taxes. Currently
there is no mechanism to collect these taxes.
We strongly support this legislation as a necessary tool for collecting and protecting our
existing local tax revenues, and in assuring tax equity. We respectfully request your signature on
AB 300.
