Hello ATCommittee members,
It was my pleasure to meet the committee last Thursday evening. I am excited to start a chapter of CWA in San Luis
Obispo and welcome all feedback. CWA chapters are cropping up across the country, including our neighbors in
Solvang, Goleta, and Santa Barbara to join the 1,500 active chapters worldwide. I believe SLO is a great community
to embrace this movement, especially since we are designated as “gold‐level” by the League of American Bicyclists.
As I mentioned at the meeting, I am currently in the beginning stage of development. Rick Ellison of BikeSLO has
been gracious enough to meet with me a few times to discuss a safety plan, and an expanding group of SLO
residents is starting to gather seed money for the purchase of our first trishaw. I have also reached out to a couple
of assisted living businesses to stir some interest.

below. If after viewing the video you, or someone you think of, would like to be involved, please reach out to
me. Taking on this vision is a bold challenge for me and I can use all the help I can get. I welcome your expertise
regarding the cycling community and I am already learning so much by observing your meetings.

A Warm Welcome to Cycling Without Age
Starting a chapter in your local community. Getting
started with a Cycling Without Age chapter is an amazing
experience. Nothing beats witnessing the joy of the
elderly, pilots and personnel interact on and around the
trishaw and seeing the smiles of passengers coming back
from their first ride with wind in their hair, rosy cheeks
and full of stories.
