GABlank Forms and Templates\Request for Public Records 08/16 Dear City Clerk of SLO, RECEIVED FE3 0 7 1.019 SLO CITY CLERK Thank you for your information on injury reports for SLO Fire Department (re: PRR85-2016) that was provided by Lee Price. However, the additional information on firefighter injuries (re: PRR18317) is necessary for our data to show SLOFD risk aversion information to establish a pattern and is no different than the information provided, by legal request, of PRR85-2016 (also a legal response was provided as requested and not provided as a matter of convenience.) We are in need of information on significant injuries suffered by the firefighters of SLOFD. These are permanent records that are exempt from the SLO City records retention schedule and are kept permanently. Injury statistics for firefighters are clearly part of the public record and labor code 138.7 does not apply in our situation for the type of data we are requesting. We feel that the information will show zero to very few significant injuries and it is not possible to fall under the labor codes protection cited. We do not need any personnel information with this request but just type of injury and any resulting actions due to these injuries. If the City of SLO is not keeping records of firefighter injuries in the line of service it is not doing its due diligence of record keeping. Please provide the injury data requested for an open review of risk management.
