This bill would establish the Creative Economy Incentive Program, providing local jurisdictions with a tool to successfully compete to attract events that will spur economic growth and opportunities for Californians. As amended, SB 736 would create the Creative Economy Incentive Program to be administered by the Governor’s office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz). We believe this Program will create an incentive for California’s local jurisdictions to draw important events to their communities and thereby stimulate their economies through increased tourism, employment opportunities and a shared sense of identity. For these reasons, we request your support for SB 736. Sincerely, Heidi Harmon Mayor cc: San Luis Obispo City Council State Senator Bill Monning, fax (916) 651 – 4917 State Assembly Member Jordan Cunningham, fax (916) 319-2135 The Honorable Thomas Umberg Toni Symonds, Consultant, Assembly JED&E Committee Kaitlin Cook, Consultant, Assembly Republican Caucus
